Session 1: Understanding Digital Transformation
This workshop is not a training course on digital tools; it is a training course on strategy. This first session establishes the basic analytical framework: how digital technology is concretely transforming the way products and services are designed, produced, and distributed, and how purely digital players are succeeding in penetrating markets previously protected by high barriers to entry.

Example of a tool : Mechanisms of digital disruption (how digital technology can redefine a value proposition, transform a business model, alter the value chain, or generate network effects powerful enough to upset the competitive balance in an industry).

Case Study : Analyze real-world examples of companies and industries that have succeeded or failed in their digital transformation to gain practical insight into the mechanisms that enabled digital players to enter markets with high barriers to entry.

Session 2: Assessing the Level of Digital Transformation in Your Industry
Before defining a strategy, you need a clear understanding of where your industry stands. This session provides participants with a method for assessing the level of digital transformation in their industry on their own, without needing to hire a consulting firm.

Example of a tool : Checklist for analyzing the level of digital transformation (Nature of the offering: Is digital technology transforming the nature of the product or service? / Business model: Does digital technology change access conditions, pricing, or revenue streams? / Value creation: Does digital technology profoundly alter the way products or services are designed, produced, or distributed? / Data: Does data generate a sustainable competitive advantage? / Network effects: Does digital technology create network effects that strengthen the competitive position?).

Case Study : Apply the checklist to your own industry to produce a rational assessment of the current level of transformation, identify the most affected parameters, and evaluate the associated threats and opportunities.

Session 3: Analyzing and Contributing to Your Company’s Strategy
The final session grounds the workshop in the participants’ real-world context: how to interpret their own company’s digital transformation strategy, and how to position themselves within it in practical terms? The Dual Transformation framework provides a simple yet powerful lens for guiding strategic decisions.

Example of a tool : The Dual Transformation framework (Transformation A: optimizing the existing core business to make it more competitive through digitalization / Transformation B: diversifying into new digital business models to tap into new sources of value / the key: managing the tension between the two, as the logic behind A and B may conflict in terms of resources and priorities).

Case Study : Analyze your own company’s digital transformation strategy using the framework, determine whether it is focused on optimization or diversification, and define how your personal role can contribute to one or the other of these two transformations.
