Learning objectives :

  • Revisiting existing routines (team meetings, one-on-ones) to maximize their impact
  • Discover new rituals and adapt them to your team’s needs
  • Leave with a concrete plan of rituals to try out starting next week

Course :

Session 1: Revisiting Management Rituals
Every manager already has rituals. The question is: do they really work? Participants will focus on the two most foundational rituals. The weekly kickoff team meeting: how to build a framework that works, and what opening message to deliver to provide meaning, foster cross-functional collaboration, and strengthen team cohesion. The 1:1: how to leverage asynchronous and written communication to maximize the value of the live exchange.

Case Study : Designing the agenda for your weekly kickoff team meeting by crafting the opening message to foster engagement, not just operational alignment.

Section 2: Rituals to Try
Beyond the classics, there are lesser-known and more innovative rituals designed to foster mutual support and team cohesion. Four rituals are explored: the Moment Challenge (a collective mutual aid ritual), the Sprint (working together at the same time on the same topic to give a boost to a routine task or a lingering issue), Lunch & Learn, and the REX (a retrospective to collectively learn from successes and failures). For each ritual, participants share their experiences and reflect on how to adapt it to their specific context.

Case Study : For each ritual presented, share your experience if you’ve already used it and think about how you can adapt it to your team’s specific situation.

Session 3: Designing Your Ritual Plan
The training concludes with a concrete commitment. Each participant chooses the ritual(s) they wish to introduce or improve, and defines the parameters of their experiment. The goal is to leave not with mere intentions, but with a realistic action plan that they have committed to in front of their peers.

Case Study : Present to your peers the ritual you are committed to trying out, specifying the format, frequency, and initial indicators of success.
