Course :

Module 1: Crafting a Message
Before you can make an impact, you need to be clear. This module provides a simple framework for preparing any group presentation—from a team meeting to an executive committee meeting—by starting with the objective and building a clear, step-by-step outline.

Example of a tool : The 4 steps to effective communication (a structured framework for preparing any group presentation: define your objective, write an outline, break your messages down into distinct and coherent blocks, to gain clarity and impact without wasting time on preparation).

Case Study : Draft an outline for an upcoming real-life communication (team meeting, executive committee meeting, cross-functional communication), identify the key messages, sequence them logically, and review the outline with your group to refine it.

Session 2: Developing Leadership Presence
A good message that’s poorly phrased won’t convince anyone. This session focuses on the linguistic nuances that make all the difference: the phrasing that conveys authority, the habits that inspire confidence, and the mannerisms to avoid that undermine credibility.

Example of a tool : The Leadership Posture Checklist (Short sentences without adverbs: avoid “enough,” “rather,” “a little” / Positive phrasing and active voice: “I have decided to” rather than “a decision has been made” / Assertive stance: phrase requests in the first person, “what I expect from you...” / Authentic emotion: “I feel / I need…” to anchor your message / Collective value: provide a business perspective that gives meaning to the request).

Case Study : Analyze a sample of written or spoken communication (email, speech) and identify areas for improvement using the checklist, then rewrite key passages to enhance their impact and clarity.

Session 3: Personal Development
Theory alone isn’t enough: it’s by practicing on a real topic, in front of an outside observer, that you identify the habits you need to break. Participants deliver a real presentation and receive direct feedback from their partner.

Example of a tool : Partner practice on a real-life topic (each participant prepares and delivers a presentation on a current topic that directly concerns them, applying the tools from the two previous sessions, while their partner observes and prepares targeted feedback on verbal tics, body language, and the clarity of the message).

Case Study : Deliver your presentation, receive feedback from a peer on your strengths and habits to correct, and leave with one or two priority adjustments to implement immediately.
