Learning objectives :

  • Identify the points that capture your audience's interest and convince them to support the project

Course :

Session 1: The Ingredients of an Effective Pitch
A compelling pitch cannot be improvised: it relies on a proven structure that addresses all the implicit questions a decision-maker might have. Participants will explore Guy Kawasaki’s Pitch Canvas and learn what makes each component effective or vulnerable.

Example of a tool : Guy Kawasaki’s Pitch Canvas / How to Pitch Anything (Problem to solve: the uncomfortable situation, the lost revenue, or the source of risk addressed, formulated in a single sentence understandable to any listener / Existing solutions: what exists today and why it isn’t enough / Proposed solutions: what you bring to the table and why it’s better / Team: who you are and why you’re the right people for this project / Market Size: the scale of the opportunity / Vision and Roadmap: where you’re going and the steps to get there / Next Steps: what you’re asking for and what happens after this pitch).

Case Study : Learn how to draft each component of the Pitch Canvas using an example, and understand what makes each section effective—specifically, how to articulate the problem in a single sentence, or how to highlight the gap between existing solutions and what you offer.

Session 2: Analyzing Pitches from Well-Known Companies
Theory really comes to life when you see it applied to real-world examples. Participants analyze pitches from well-known companies to observe how each component is handled in practice, identify what makes the best pitches impactful, and understand what weakens the less effective ones.

Example of a tool : Breaking down real-world pitches using the Pitch Canvas (identifying how each section is addressed in a well-known company’s pitch, evaluating the strength of the problem statement, the clarity of the value proposition, the credibility of the team, and the robustness of the roadmap).

Case Study : Analyze several pitches from well-known companies using the Pitch Canvas framework, discuss as a group what works and what could be improved, and derive principles that can be applied to your own pitches.

Session 3: Crafting and Delivering Your Pitch
Participants move from analysis to practice. Each person crafts their own pitch using the Pitch Canvas framework, then the subgroups create a joint pitch and deliver it to the rest of the group to get an outside perspective.

Example of a tool : The guiding principle for implementation (each participant individually drafts the key elements of their pitch based on the 7 components / the subgroups merge their pitches into a coherent and compelling joint version / each group delivers their pitch to the rest of the participants to receive structured feedback).

Case Study Example : Develop a complete pitch based on a real project or a provided case study, identify the weakest points, present it to the group, and leave with specific feedback on areas to improve before your next presentation.
