Learning objectives :
- Use the key elements of an effective pitch to structure any business project in a clear and compelling way
- Identify the points that capture the interest of your audience and convince them to support the project
Course :
Session 1: The Ingredients of an Effective Pitch
A compelling pitch cannot be improvised: it relies on a proven structure that addresses all the implicit questions a decision-maker might have. Participants will explore Guy Kawasaki’s Pitch Canvas and learn what makes each component effective or vulnerable.
Case Study : Learn how to draft each component of the Pitch Canvas using an example, and understand what makes each section effective—specifically, how to articulate the problem in a single sentence, or how to highlight the gap between existing solutions and what you offer.
Session 2: Analyzing Pitches from Well-Known Companies
Theory really comes to life when you see it applied to real-world examples. Participants analyze pitches from well-known companies to observe how each component is handled in practice, identify what makes the best pitches impactful, and understand what weakens the less effective ones.
Case Study : Analyze several pitches from well-known companies using the Pitch Canvas framework, discuss as a group what works and what could be improved, and derive principles that can be applied to your own pitches.
Session 3: Crafting and Delivering Your Pitch
Participants move from analysis to practice. Each person crafts their own pitch using the Pitch Canvas framework, then the subgroups create a joint pitch and deliver it to the rest of the group to get an outside perspective.
Case Study Example : Develop a complete pitch based on a real project or a provided case study, identify the weakest points, present it to the group, and leave with specific feedback on areas to improve before your next presentation.
